Warm but not hot. But it feels hot as you'll have flown in from the cold IYSWIM.

Morley19 · 31/08/2022 08:34

Thank you for that. Want to be able to chill round the pool but don’t know if it would be warm enough for that

Pre having school to think of, we went every January and there were plenty of sunbathing days. There is always a breeze there, so some days were cloudy and a bit cooler, but plenty of days were spent lying by the pool!

South Tenerife is a better bet weather wise. We went last Jan and it was mid 20s all week.

Newgirls · 31/08/2022 08:43

It might be for a couple of hours in the middle of the day but otherwise go for walks, explore etc it’s an interesting island

Go for a hotel with indoor and outdoor pools, then you can choose. We went in Feb and it wasn't hot enough that particular week to be outside all day but the indoor pool had big glass windows and it was still sunny.

BarbaraofSeville · 31/08/2022 08:55

Nothing is guaranteed. It could be quite hot and you can swim in the sea if you're fairly hardy, but it could also be cooler/cloudy/windy or even rain. Like most of summer in the UK except when we have a heatwave.

You'll almost certainly want a hotel with a heated pool and need a jacket when going out in the evening especially if you want to sit outside, although a lot of restaurants have patio heating.

I've been in Jan before and it was sunny and warm but breezy. Sunbathing weather but with goosebumps from the breeze 😂

Midpmcoffee · 31/08/2022 08:59

Sorry to hijak but what about in mid October?

Morley19 · 31/08/2022 09:08

Thanks for all your replies.

I think I may consider Dominican Republic instead! That looks much more guaranteed! Xx

I think mid October you would be pretty guaranteed good weather. I went right at the end of September and it was fantastic weather
