Exotic/exciting, not too hot but reliably warm?

Any destination suggestions for us for summer 2023 that are reliably warm (mid 20s) but not too hot? I have a heat sensitive 6 yr old!

Cape Cod in the US? Boston is one of the cheapest cities to fly to in the US and the weather is so much more reliable than the west coast.

When in summer? Temperatures in June are completely different to temperatures in August.

Budget?

Pregnantabroad · 29/08/2022 09:21

School holidays which makes it expensive I know. Budget about £5k for 2 weeks but there are 6 of us.

Tenerife / La Palma in the Canary Islands?

Alcemeg · 29/08/2022 20:29

Yep - that's me all over.

Oh sorry, just read the actual OP! SW France?

Bodice · 29/08/2022 20:32

Netherlands. Slightly warmer than the UK and the rain is more fast heavy showers followed by sun. Lots of decent holiday sites that are bit a bit centerparks style but better and cheaper. Lots of eurocamp type places too. Can go on the overnight ferry from hull so pretty pain free journey. Amazing theme parks as well such as duinreil and Efteling. Not as busy or as much of a rip off as Disney.

Madeira?

Summertimesunshineandfizz · 29/08/2022 20:48

Exotic and exciting - I was going to suggest SA - specifically the Kruger, but for 6 £5k is not doable, sadly.
How about canoeing and camping in Croatia?

cannotfindanickname · 29/08/2022 21:05

I am currently in Lanzarote. Perfect weather, sunny and warm but never too hot as it is always windy.

midsomermurderess · 29/08/2022 21:38

Slovenia. You could mix it up a bit with a few days in the north, the mountains, and a few days in the Adriatic coast.

abovedecknotbelow · 29/08/2022 23:42

You're not going to get exotic on that budget for six but you can get s/c on air bnb or vrbo if you're careful and are prepared to utilise a sofa bed, you'd then need to factor in in flights, hire car and food / drink / entertainment.

minipie · 02/09/2022 23:21

Alps or other mountain holidays? Cooler due to altitude, may also be wetter of course. Not exactly exotic, but different and there are exciting activities.

Germany

Georgyporky · 03/09/2022 18:04

Madeira ?

Mossiebonbon · 17/12/2022 20:58

Have you decided on anything/anywhere OP?

Boston is cheap to fly to, but unfortunately one of the most expensive cities in the US Hmm
