Best cruise you've been on

Just curious about cruises. I've never been on one before. I have ds14 and ds11. They love swimming and water park type rides. Can any one please recommend a cruise that might fit the bill? Thanks

I suppose Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are the best for these types of activities. I would say Princess as well for the swimming but maybe not so much the other features. They do have outdoor cinemas though by the pool which seems to attract a lot of kids. My top tip would be to look on Cruise Critic which is a great source of information about all cruise lines and ships. It is an American site but will give you an idea about the individual ships and lots of Brits on there too. There is also the Disney ships but I don't know much about them, and personally would never go on one!

We have been on more than 20.

I really prefer the smaller ships. I like the marella ones for many reasons. (all inclusive, great food, no tipping, great range of entertainment ) I also like that I can eat whenever I want to. no set times

My favourite has to be the Asian one Cambodia, veitnam, Malaysia, Singapore.

Yes I prefer smaller ships as well, favourite being the Victoria but it's not really that child friendly and the big American ships are often more geared towards activities for families I feel.

Circumnavigation of South America on Queen Victoria. Just for the experience of different cultures. Loads of facilities on board.

I’ve been on 14, 11 with my DC and there recently with just my DU. My faves were
1.Disney around the Med
2.a surprising one RC Anthem of the Seas around the UK for 5 nights last year with just one stop in Belfast.

If you Google cruise ship water parks you’ll get a list of good suggestions. I went on NCL Encore in March and that has a couple of good slides.

Just done MSC Virtuosia. It’s brand new so looks lovely and has a water park on the top deck ( 2 tube rides as well as buckets and rapids) and a whole teens and kids space away from everyone. Lots of pools and jacuzzis for all ages with a snack bar on deck they can grab fish/chips/burgers /drinks whenever they like
First week it was family groups, by the second week the kids had made friends and were running round the ship in packs ordering drinks ( mocktails) and ice creams with impunity! Sounds terrible but it was quite nice to see them carefree and being silly.
