Mums Night Away prior to Christmas for shopping plus relaxing hotel - Advice please

A group of us Mums went to Oxford this year and did the Bicester Shopping Village. Stayed in a lovely hotel and just had a lovely evening, meal natter etc... this year want to do the same. Does anyone have any suggestions? We require:

1. Not too far from Nottingham
2. Got to have a shoppign outlet nearby
3. Nice hotel, spa etc...

Bath and here

I think Bath is too far to drive ie. We want to leave about 9.30am and drive for an hour and a half tops. thanks for the suggestion - Chester sounds good and is under 2 hours

I was going to suggest Bath but AA route planner said over 3 hours.
