Booking.com suppressing negative reviews?

So back in February I had a really awful stay in a hotel. I mean objectively awful, as in they hadn't changed the bedlinen, left someone else's used towel in the bathroom, they had an air freshener spritzing into the tiny room every 30 minutes (the tiny room wasn't an issue but the air freshener was way too much for the space, even aside from the fact that I can't personally tolerate artificial air fresheners), pillows stunk of cigarette smoke, smoke coming under the door (non smoking hotel but they didn't stop it). One thin blanket although it was in a place where it's cold at night etc. Anyway I just looked at the hotel site and although my honest and fair review (I gave full credit for the few good points) is there under my account details, when I search the actual hotel reviews it is not there. Not at all, even when I specifically search on negative reviews for the month I stayed, it is not there. So Booking.com obviously suppress or remove anything that is so negative it might affect them making money off booking fees! Very disappointing, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it won't be honest.
Anyone else noticed this?

Very strange that they’re removed it completely op! I had a bit of a strange experience few months ago.
I left a review of a hotel I’d stayed in.

The review was ‘good’ I think 7 out of 10, but I mentioned a couple of negative points.

They published the review, but instead of appearing as the latest one, it got buried, and you had to really search to find it! All the published ones were averaging 9 out of 10, which I thought was a bit suspicious🤔

I've written a few critical/net negative reviews on booking.com and as far as I know they all showed up normally. One thing I've noticed is that the default sort order is set to "most relevant", I'm not sure how that's determined, but reviews flagged "reviewers' choice" go to the top and always seem to be fully positive, 9 or 10/10. Reviews that other users have marked helpful also get boosted and maybe a mix of good and bad.

If you sort by date with filters off (you might have already done this) and still don't see your review where it should be, I'd report it as a possible glitch.

I've posted a negative review and they published in full no issues

I use booking.com multiple time each month. Always leave honest reviews and the few times when they’ve been truly awful, I have always been able to see my review later on, they do publish them. Or the vast, vast majority of them at least.

Gotta say, I use Booking.com a lot, and don’t always leave reviews, but it would appear anecdotally from speaking to friends that they do tend to publish reviews, good or bad!
I do love their genius program, and have had some great deals though them!

Hi, it did show up initially but when I look now it is definitely not there.

I contacted them yesterday and they just said my review was approved at the time and didn't really address my query about why it is not there now and invited me to phone them to discuss. I don't really have time to phone to spend ages being transferred and fobbed off like I was by email!

I will look again in a day or two to see if it has mysteriously reappeared!!

I do like their site and have had some good stays from there, although I do suspect that the bookings through them have often resulted in getting the worse room available in that particular class, but that's down to the hotels themselves.

Bad reviews disappear because hosts delete the entire advert and then recreate it as if it were new.
In this way the hosts who cheat because they rent very ugly houses are able to work, because the advert is always presented as new.
Booking.com knows what's going on, but does nothing.
He's an accomplice.
Business is business.
