Hi oh wise MNers.

I'm going to Rome with my auntie next month and have heard pre-paid cards are better than carrying all cash or paying by credit / debit card.

If this is the case, does anyone have any recommendations please?

TIA.

Just get a Monzo card.

Thanks but I don't want to have to apply for another bank account / credit card type one.

Don’t most pre paid cards have fees? It’s prob on the money saving expert site as a comparison.

ive Always used an existing card (monzo/starling/chase) but if you don’t want to do that then maybe look for who is currently doing a deal on a low cost pre paid card

@LeafHunter - great tip thank you. I'll have a squizz. I'm just concerned a Monzo card etc will affect my credit score etc.

We’ve been recommended Revolut.
you can also use it with apple/android pay if you have that.

Wise is good as you can have the local currency and it is very cheap to transfer money onto it.

Starling - put money in the account and away you go.

Revolut!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 22/08/2022 18:34

Revolut, I love it!

Monzo won't affect your credit score

Great, thanks everyone. A few to check out!
