Urgent travelling later with Covid pass still in maiden name and passport I married

Hi, I’m flying later, can anyone let me know if it was all ok to fly with Covid pass in maiden name still. Passport and booking in married name. I have not long had my passport back and marriage certificate as it took 5 months to change my name on my passport, I didn’t even think about my Covid pass being in my maiden name still. I’m taking my birth cert and marriage certificate and I am fully vaccinated is this going to be enough to get into Spain. I’m seriously worried. Many thanks,

Take your marriage certificate with you!

Nobody checked our Covid passes on either flight to Spain recently.

Darhon · 22/08/2022 07:22

Have you done the separate Spanish health certificate. They did scan our code from this. Didn’t ask to see covid pass. They did take temperatures instead of those who had not done the certificate. We just had our certificate scanned.

Been in Spain last week. They didn't look at our covid passes. They asked us to open them on our phones and if you looked like you were opening it they waved you through. That was Barcelona.

Same here

Don’t do the SpTH form unless you’ve not been boostered - they’re not required.

You will spot checked, so don’t listen to those saying ‘nothing was needed’.

They don’t check whole flights but you might be chosen for a spot check.

In my experience (over a dozen flights into Spain since the pandemic started), they won’t check the Covid pass against passports. They would just need to scan the QR code.

CornishGem1975 · 22/08/2022 07:34

I've not known anybody to have theirs checked, mine certainly wasn't. It didn't even cross my mind.

Am in Spain now, going through security they asked if we were vaccinated, but didn’t check everyone’s certificate, just some random checks. I’m sure it’s fine if you have the marriage and birth certificate with you just in case.
was also no separate health form to fill out that I was aware of

Twizbe · 22/08/2022 07:49

Went to Spain at the start of the month (Alicante airport)

We were asked to open our covid passes on our phone but no one checked them. It was a random check. There was a temperature camera on us as well.

mac1974 · 22/08/2022 07:51

They just scanned ours (palma airport) didn't compare them to the passport or read them.

TheSJCSupplies · 22/08/2022 07:55

Thank you so much everyone, I’m currently sat at the doctors waiting to change my name to see if the app will change in time.

This.

I had to get a new passport to match my covid passport as there didn't seem to be certainty they would accept my marriage certificate

maslinpan · 22/08/2022 08:28

The Covid pass is a proof of vaccination, it is not a proof of identity.

What health certificate? I flew to Spain last week and we used the NHS covid pass, that’s what the gov guidelines say you need.

Hotandbothereds · 22/08/2022 08:31

Oh, and nobody had any temperature taken either, just scanned the NHS passes.

Panicmode1 · 22/08/2022 08:37

We flew to Madrid recently as a family of 6. 5 of us were just asked to show we had the pass (they didn't look at them!) but DS got randomly selected for a temp check and they did look at the pass. However if you have your marriage cert. I'm sure it will be completely fine.

(And a bit off topic, even though it says mask wearing is compulsory on the plane in Spanish airspace and on public transport still, very few of us did, but perhaps take a couple with you. We had to go to a doctor and pharmacy whilst out there and they were complusory in both settings).

JubileeTissues · 22/08/2022 08:44

"Oh, and nobody had any temperature taken either, just scanned the NHS passes."

How can you possibly know that? One of the times we flew to Spain recently they temperature checked the first 15/20 people coming off our flight and then waved the rest through.

Anyone in the last couple of hundred people coming off the flight would have no idea we'd been checked, some people weren't even in the terminal by then.

We've been pulled aside and had our passes scanned too but they didn't check them against our passports.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 22/08/2022 08:52

I don’t know where you live but if you’re in Wales you’ll get more success by going to your local vaccination centre with your marriage certificate and getting the admin team there to change your surname on the Welsh vaccination system. Our GP’s wouldn’t do that.

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/08/2022 09:34

As long as you have your marriage cert it’ll be fine
