Hi,

looking for a nice hotel in a good location for sightseeing with my daughter (15).

6 nights in October and looking to keep it below £1k.

Thanks 😊

We stayed on the Botel (boat that’s a hotel). It was amazing ❤️ Me and Ds think he was about 13 at the time.

Link here

Very reasonable and convenient- you get a free ferry to it - all part of the fun ❤️

Thethingswedoforlove · 21/08/2022 23:18

I loved the hoxton in Amsterdam

Hotel CC was reasonable. Clean, friendly and very handy for the station.

We stayed at The Grand - a Sofitel Legend hotel. Could not recommended it more. Fab location, staff amazing and lovely rooms.
Have a great time!

We stayed at Hotel Library Amsterdam, search on booking.com. Would recommend.

Thanks for this. Looks like a fun place to stay and great that there is a free ferry service to the station.

I'll check it out properly later on.

Kimpton De Witt - amazing place and central too.

DS(11) and I stayed at the Hotel Fita in June this year and can recommend it. It's in the Museumplein, opposite the Van Gogh museum and tram/bus stop (including to/from the airport), so very easy for getting around. The area felt very safe and it was in between two primary schools, so it was fun to see the kids arriving on their bikes/in bike seats as we were eating our breakfast.

The Hard Rock Hotel is fabulous.

Sewaccidentprone · 22/08/2022 22:07

We’ve just got back from Amsterdam and stayed in Arena Hotel. It’s on the edge of Oosterpark and was lovely.

we booked with Booking.com which was cheaper than booking direct with the hotel.

very quiet, but overlooking the park, within 5 mins walk of tram and 10 mins of underground.

Kimpton De Witt - amazing place and central too.

Second this, stayed earlier this year with a teen and we loved it

midsomermurderess · 23/08/2022 21:42

I’ve stayed here and it’s lovely: mrjordaan.nl. It’s on a pretty canal-side street, close to trans, twenty minutes from the station. The Jordaan is an interesting, slightly funky district.

midsomermurderess · 23/08/2022 21:42

Link didn’t work mrjordaan.nl

CoolShoeshine · 25/08/2022 22:25

Kimpton de Witt

Swimbler · 25/08/2022 22:32

We’ve just recently stayed at Botel and tbh not sure if I would recommend it. It didn’t really have anywhere to sit as such and the rooms are so small you really do need that space.
The reviews of breakfast weren’t great but there is an amazing artisan bakery around the corner.
if I had my time again I’d do double tree Hilton next to botel as that area of town I was blown away with. Bars, restaurants and arcade places, bakery, supermarket and street art museum etc. It’s the old industrial area so has a more authentic feel and nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of main town Amsterdam.

Just don’t forget to book Anne Frank tickets if that’s on your agenda as the sell out quick.

coconuthead · 25/08/2022 22:49

Hard rock

I send three days in Amsterdam with my fifteen year old at the end of July. We stayed in The Plaza Victoria, which was really comfortable and had great breakfasts. It is opposite Centraal so is really convenient and easy to find and it meant we didn't have o drag our luggage across town.

aksimon · 06/09/2022 19:26

Spent!

AnnaMagnani · 06/09/2022 19:35

My honest recommendation is to stay in Den Haag which is much much nicer, well worth visiting itself, and a very quick train journey away. After spending too much on hotels that weren't that nice, we vowed this is what we would do if we ever went back.

We stayed in La Pawlowna Boutique Hotel which was gorgeous and ideally located.

christmaspudding43 · 09/09/2022 20:20

Hotel V Fizeaustraat, not central but v v quick on tram or train and lovely. Breakfast is delicious.
