NYC recommendations for 2-room apartments/hotels with adjoining rooms

Hello

We'd like to take the kids (14 and 9) to New York next year and I'm seeking some advice on where to stay. We don't want to all sleep in one room so I'm looking for (ideally) hotels which have 2-room apartments in, or failing that, hotels with interconnecting rooms. Or serviced apartments would be fine. Basically anything that has 2 rooms or more!

thanks in advance.

We stayed at EVEN Times Square which had interconnecting rooms.

It's part of the Holiday Inn group, was nice and clean, good location, and reasonably priced. At the time (2019) it was around £200 a night per room, but it's now looking like £400+ a night.

Most hotels have gone in the same direction price wish. So you might be better off paying for an air bnb.

AirBNB is illegal in NYC unless the owner is also staying in the same property at the time or the rental period is for longer than 30 days. Both sound unlikely in the OP's case.

Look at Embassy Suites and Marriott Courtyard properties. They can often provide two bedroom suites. I can't recommend specific ones as I'm A NY'er and have my own accommodation.

@HundredMilesAnHour , and a good thing too. It was really getting out of hand.

I can recommend Hotel Beacon on Upper West Side. It has kitchenettes, is very close to Central Park, museums etc and easy to hop on the subway. We’ve stayed there a few times with our children.

(Quite a few years ago) I stayed in the radio city apartments. You can get 2/3 bedrooms. They were basic but clean and had everything we needed. Might be worth a look. Reviews are still good on Tripadvisor.

I second Radio City Apartments, they have 2 bedroom apartments. Kitchenette with hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster etc, dining table and chairs.
Beside Times Square so close to Rockerfeller,Central Park etcz
Very reasonable prices, old and a bit shabby but very clean and the staff all very nice and helpful.
As per above comments, any apartments for let other then in Aparthotels (like Radio City) are illegal.

Third vote for Radio City Apartments and completely agree with all above comments - understand it’s really expensive in NY currently so gives you some options to self cater a few meals or get takeout but still have a hotel front desk service to leave bags etc. We were there in 2019 with a 13 & 11 yo. One room had one double, the second room had two double beds. We thought it was a great location for doing all of the real touristy stuff which presume you will want to do with your kids!

We stayed in Affinia Gardens junior suite for a week.Family of 5 with 3 teens. Got a deal with BA including flights and think we got free car hire for a month after. Fab kitchen, bathroom, lounge, dining area,1 bedroom with 2 doubles but double sofa bed in lounge my daughter loved as had her own tv. It’s v near Central and has free bikes you can borrow. There is a v £££ supermarket near by.

They have 2 bedroom suites too.
