We are a family of 4 adults, 2 under 29 - bit confused about the whole array of discount passes available.

What's the best way to see the secret passages in the Doge's palace, St Marks , Peggy Guggenheim museum and travel to Murano to see the glass ( and if there is time also go to Burano. ) We are staying near Padua so planning a day trip.

Thank you !

The cheapest way to get to Murano is probably to get the normal ferry although my parents went with a private tour which was free but you were expected to buy something. They didn't!

That's quite a lot for one day!

Too much for 1 day. The normal boat to Burano takes about 45 mins one way, although I don't know about taxi boats.

You will arrive at the station. Check out the No1 water bus. Calls in everywhere all down the Grand Canal. You get to see a lot! In a day trip, forget about the islands. These two will
take 5 hours. You won’t have time.

However the Doges Palace & St Marks is a must. The Guggenheim is lovely. I would also highly recommend La Scuola Grande San Rocco for Tintoretto paintings and a quieter corner. There’s also Ca Rezzonico and Museo
Corer for more intense art. Personally I would wander through the back “streets” and explore Venice as you go back to the station. It’s very rewarding and some of the smaller churches contain unexpected treasures and are in exquisite squares. Venice is just special.

Also in Padua you must visit the Scrovegni Chapel (Arena)!with Giotto frescoes. It’s utterly wonderful. The museum is good too and Padua has a very ancient university and churches. It’s a great place to be.

Pre book the secret passages tour now. It's fab and then plan your day from there. Different languages at different times. palazzoducale.visitmuve.it/en/pianifica-la-tua-visita/special-itineraries/secret-itineraries-tour/
We also enjoyed wandering around some of the back streets coming across little bakeries etc.

Thank you for the tips everyone . Have decided to do islands a different day and just concentrate on Venice utilising all the great info you've all provided Smile
