Overnight stop between Dieppe and Bicarosse

We arrive by ferry to Dieppe at lunchtime next Thursday, we don't have to check in to our accommodation in Bicarosse until 3 on the Friday. We are travelling with kids and would really love to stop somewhere fun or quirky or interesting overnight on the way - can anyone recommend anywhere that they've enjoyed with kids? (Age 9&11) thank you ☺️

If you had more time than that, I’d suggest Futuroscope. We’ve recently stayed at Ricordeau Hotel which has lots of family rooms, a swimming pool and games for the dc in the garden. The food is quite fancy but they did smaller portions for the dc and they were invited by the chef into the kitchen.

We've often done the journey though usually from Caen/Cherbourg. There are various options but if you need to be at one by mid-afternoon on the Thursday or fit it in first thing on Friday, that's trickier. There's a great high wires course at Tours but you'd need to look at opening times.

We've done various chateaux too - but they're around the same drive time.

@Fivemoreminutes1 we could potentially stay near there on the Thursday then spend the day there before heading to our accommodation later in the evening - is a day worth it or would we be frustrated!? Is the hotel you mentioned near there? Thank you!

@GU24Mum are there any chateaux you'd recommend? I think just staying in one would be Exciting/ interesting enough! Thank you

The Dune du Pilat? Although that's very close to Biscarosse. Do go there whilst you're in the area though.
We had one of best holidays ever in that area (we stayed a little way further south in Contis), it's a lovely part of France.

Ah. Just reread the title and seen you're looking for an overnight stop. Ignore me! But go to the dune anyway!

If you could possibly spend a day at Futuroscope, do it! Such an amazing place. I’d stay in one of the Futuroscope hotels or very close by to make the most of it. The hotel I mentioned isn’t very close - it’s just to the west of Le Mans.

If you want to stay near one, Azay le Rideau is great. Don't do what my family made us do and stay 5 miles out somewhere with damp bedding! It's a lovely little town and we had a great evening having a pizza outside having been round the chateau in the afternoon.

We've been to Usse in the last few years too. It's the Sleeping Beauty one with themed displays which, in typical French fashion, are just a little creepy!

I might be a bit late to this but have a look at Puy du Fou - utterly, bonkersly amazing and perfect for kids that age (and adults).

Thank you @SaffyWall and not too late at all 😊
