Can my mom countersign a passport for my fella?

Hey, hoping you can help. My fella needs to renew his passport and because we have a holiday booked end of September and had to pay for fast track, he doesn’t want his passport application rejected so he wants to get it countersigned just in case. My mom is a fellow of a cipd HR profession so I think she fits the bill of belonging to a profession, me and my partner aren’t married and my mom doesn’t live with us, so do you think this would be ok or not? Just not sure as to us she is a relative but legally she is not to my partner.

Yes she s no relation to your partner, it's fine as long as she qualifies. Just say family friend

If you're not married I don't see why it would be an issue.

As long as she is on the approved list and isn't his blood relative it is fine.

Perfect thanks for your help 😊
