Lake garda - gardaland hotel???

Hi

I am looking at going to lake garda next year. Possibly august. I'm wondering if anybody has stayed at lake garda or stayed at gardaland?

We are looking to explore lake garda a little and perhaps venture out in to Venice and Verona and would like to do a day at gardaland with the kids.

I'm wondering if staying at gardaland sets us back a little from transport links to Venice and Verona and lake garda itself?

I'd heard bordolino was good to stay and easy transport links.

Also, the weather in lake garda in august. Is it too hot? I ideally don't like the weather to exceed 25 degrees because I like to get out and about and the heat is too much, especially with young kiddies.

Thank you xxx

We had 30o plus a few years ago. Early August is very busy as Northern Europeans drive down. Peschiera is popular with families as there are large resorts, mix of hotel and sc, with access to lake and train to Verona.

Lake Garda normally has temperatures in the 30's in August. It's also crazy busy at that time. If your kids are preschool (or you don't mind missing school) I'd recommend September or May. The temperatures are lovely then and you'll save on costs too.
