Holiday without Dad

My partner and I have a 6 yo. Recently my sister has asked us if we would like to join her and her partner and kids on holiday to Florida to go to Disney. My partner doesn’t want to go as he doesn’t like ‘fairground rounds’ but I really want to go and take our little one. I think she would love going with her cousins. He even said, you go and I’ll stay here. What would you do? Would you go? To me it’s ringing alarm bells, why wouldn’t he want to come and see how happy it would make our little one!?

Just go and stop reading so much I go it. It's a long way to go and a lot of money to spend if he won't enjoy it. It's my idea of hell and I wouldn't want to go if you paid me. He's not stopping you going so there's no issue.

I take my DC away without my DP.

He can't get as much time off work than I can. No red flag about it.

The red flag would be if he stopped you going

I regularly go on holiday without DH, he doesn’t really enjoy the types of holidays I like, he enjoys the peace and quiet at home, I have a great time with the DC. He does miss seeing them enjoy things, but he enjoys lots of other things with them.

I would hate Disneyland/World.

I hate rides and have an middle ear issue which means I go dizzy at heights and would never go on anything that goes upside-down. I would also hate the humidity of Florida and my asthma would invariably kick off.

It is also very expensive so what is the point in paying so much if you won't enjoy it.

If DH and DS really wanted to go then I would suggest Disneyland Paris and leave them and miss the "immeasurable joy" of DS 😂😂 while I enjoyed Paris

Lol.
Disney in Florida is so much more than this.
I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but has he actually looked into it at all?
If he is thinking it is just a bigger version of a traditional type of theme park then he may be pleasantly surprised.
And Florida is also much more than just the Disney parks - there is a lot more to it.
Maybe he should look into it more to see what it actually entails before just dismissing the idea of a holiday with his family.
