We are planning to go to Rome next summer and want to go self catering (family holiday, more space & freedom to come and go etc). Any recommendations on reliable places to look for accommodation?
Booking holiday lets in the UK in the past we have been let down twice by hosts selling the flat etc and having to find something last minute (particularly bad with booking.com whose t&cs don't oblige them to find us a reasonable alternative) so are keen to avoid having to find something at short notice in another country at the height of summer. If possible, somewhere which is an actual company which owns and lets out a few places rather than just advertising on behalf of private individuals who might pull out and be under no obligation to find us something else.
