Where was your best October half-term holiday and why?
Just curious and looking for ideas!

We’ve just booked to go to Turkey. I hope it’ll be fab!

Center Parcs. We could do indoor activities like the tropical swimming complex, crafts, bowling and rock climbing when the weather was miserable. When the weather was ok, we did lots of autumnal woodland walks finding conkers and acorns, bike rides and archery, and went back to our lodge for a hot chocolate.

Our DC used to get 2 weeks so possibilities opened up! We did New York, Washington, Dubai, various European cities (Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm) and sometimes the Caribbean. Cities in the USA work well at that time of year. Not too hot and plenty to see.

We did Centreparcs one year and it was great.

One year we did Northumberland.

This year we are are are (glares in direction of homebody DH) going to Paris.

I haven’t done many but Cyprus was good. It was a lovely temperature, lots to do, it did get dark early though which was weird on a sunny holiday.

If it’s a bit underwhelming for the beach, do a city. So much to see beyond a beach!

We had a few October half term breaks to Spain (Nerja and Sitjes) - weather was just pleasant (we don't like it too hot), and also went to Butlins a couple of times.

Marrakech - we actually went in December but I think it would be brilliant for an Oct half term. Different and memorable but without a long flight or jetlag. And sunny!

For a more standard beach and pool holiday, Cyprus worked very well.

So many great holidays! The luxury of two weeks for half term sounds fabulous too

We are going to Essaouira in Morocco this half term. We've booked a beautiful serviced villa (including a chef) with a private heated pool for a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere!

We drove to the Loire Valley years ago. It was perfect weather for us, not hot and not raining. It was the end of the season so quiet, but most things were still open (except canoeing). Dog friendly too

Hi, would you mind sharing details of the villa you booked? Thanks.
