Sorry posted by accident!!
We are travelling from East Mids to the Balearics next week and I wondered what the baggage situation was like now? We are going with Jet2 which I believe from reading online seem more reliable than other airlines but I could be wrong there. Going to pack items across all 3 x cases so if one case does go AWOL then we should be OK for a few days. Just looking for personal experiences.
Thanks!

We're on holiday with Jet2holidays at the moment. No baggage lost and it came quick too. No flights delays either, excellent service all round.

I'd recommend packing across suitabsrs anyway, just in case.

For the first time ever we had a case go awol in July. For some reason we haven't really mixed bags so it contains all of dh's clothes and DD's trainers/shoes.

Ours went missing between Manchester ti airport flight and didn't make it to our Malaysia flight. This was with Etihad airlines.

I have to say that they were really good at the airport. They located it quickly in Abu Dhabi and it was delivered to our hotel the following evening. We were told that we could by essentials needed for each day it was delayed.
So Dh bought a t shirt, shirt, shorts and underwear abd Dd got a pair of trainers.
We put our compensation claim (for expenses only) about a week ago and are still awaiting a response.

EMA is quite a small airport, and Jet 2 is very organised so you should be fine. I've used it a lot in the past
However always, always have a plan B just in case (pants, socks & spare T-shirt in your hand luggage)

We recently flew out of and back into Manchester with Lufthansa.
Our luggage arrived quickly and with no issues but there seemed to be lots of cases lying around and people filling in forms

Thats all very reassuring thank you. Noted about the plan B and will definately split clothes across the cases do if one did go missing we would each still have clothes and essentials. I'm a natural worrier so I won't be able to start enjoying my holiday until we land and have received all of our cases!

We go to Kos tomorrow from East Mids with TUI.

I've put essential clothes in our hand luggage and spread clothes over the other cases.

I've also put our name/mobile on a piece of paper inside and have bought leather luggage labels from Amazon and put the same information on, country, name and mobile number.

Hopefully if they get stuck at the airport someone could ring or text us.
Praying it doesn't happen though.

Yes always pack change of underwear and T-shirt in hand luggage. If you arrive without luggage, even though you can go shopping the next day probably and be compensated eventually. You still want to be able to shower and basic clean change. I always take toothbrush also in hand luggage

I bought an airtag for my luggage last week after seeing the news about that state of baggage at my local airport (they've had to open a storage unit down the road to keep all the bags in!) but it turned up fine at both ends. Good piece of mind though to know it was on the flight and i'll use the tag for my bike now. I put my pj's, toothbrush and pair of clean pants in my hand luggage on the way out.

It’s my worry too. We are off on Friday. I plan to put a change of clothes in a hand luggage and divide a bit between suitcases but won’t relax until I’ll see them all as well.
@Caspianberg good point about toothbrush, thanks.

We travelled from East Midlands to Kos on Tuesday.

Flew through check in/security- we were in the bar within 30 minutes.

Luggage took so long to come through when we got to Kos but got all our suitcases.

Just hope it's the same on our return

Yep, and I have a thread in AIBU right now. Long haul on Swiss air. Split items across multiple bags, air tagged them all. Two cases did not arrive into LHR and when they arrived yesterday had been ransacked for everything you could put on eBay. Airline couldn’t give two shits. FWIW, this was a business class flight and I had priority luggage etc. I’m beyond furious.
