Car seat brand recommendations

Hi folks
Travelling to Cyprus in October. we have a private car transfer for an hour - my travel agent has recommended we take our own.

Can you recommend lightweight car seat brands that would work for this? (not booster) for 9-18kg range. Babe will be 20 months.

Joie or Graco for rear facing. Maxi Cosi or Britax for forward facing.

You can get some really lightweight generic own-brand type seats in Argos or Halfords or Asda, but these are really minimal protection - it would be up to you really whether this is OK for an hour's trip, maybe based on whether you'll ever use the seat again after this holiday.

There are also some seats specifically designed for travel - Urban Kanga, Maxi Cosi Nomad - there aren't any crash tests publically available for these, so not sure if they are any better than the really cheap/own brand ones. Or Nachfolger, which is an inflatable rear facing one. Pricey but good crash test result.

Whatever you get I'd recommend trying to fit it in your own car at home so you know what to do :) You could even do this before you buy for most shops.
