Lost passport online renewal help please!

Hello!

After racking my brain for hours after both my GP and Dentist refused to confirm my identity for my lost passport online renewal, I finally found someone willing to help (manager of the car dealership we service our car with every year).

My question is what is the procedure for confirming someone's identity online? What information of hers do I need to put in my application (name, email, age maybe?) and what will they ask her to confirm when she does confirm online?

They will send her an email and ask her to confirm your name, DOB and possibly place of birth (can't remember sorry) and she will have to input her passport number (she must be a British citizen). I think you need to know her name, occupation and email address.

That's great thank you, though I hope they don't ask her our place of birth as I'm from a completely different region entirely!

We've known her for over 6 years and been relatively friendly but I'm a little concerned that she won't be suitable as technically she isn't a friend of mine, just a friendly acquaintance shall we say?

Or am I just worrying over nothing?
