Anyone recently driven to Dover?

We are getting a ferry from Dover this Friday at 10am. I am just wondering if there are still long delays or has it improved since the initial chaos at the start of the school hols.

We drove to Dover to get the P&O ferry on 27 July and there were no delays at all. It was very easy to board, but maybe because it wasn't a weekend 🤷‍♀️

I live there. It's fine. Allow extra time for popular crossing times, but otherwise fine. You can always go to St James' shopping area right by the port to kill time if you do leave too much time due to queue nerves though.

We were there 2 weeks ago. We allowed 90 mins and only needed 15! It was great. Calais check in on the other hand took twice as long as expected 🤦🏻‍♀️

Should have said that both crossings were on Saturday.

Thank you everyone, very reassuring. We are leaving tomorrow morning from west London. Meant to be there for 9 at latest. Might still aim for leaving at 6 am but if we run a bit late should be ok.

Just a FYI for those also coming down. No delays at all on the road, all very easy! We actually had our ferry cancelled at 3 am this morning, but advised to travel down as normal. As we got there early got an earlier ferry so arrived at holiday by midday. Worked out well in the end.
