Anyone flown from Heathrow T3 first thing in the morning?

We are due to fly from Heathrow T3 long haul to the US next week. Flight is at 9am. I wondering if anyone has flown at a similar time and can say how their experience was with check in / security? Aiming for 3 hours before but I’ve heard horror stories of it taking longer. We will have to check bags so can’t go straight to security and will have two toddler in tow.

Are you driving to Heathrow first thing or staying the night? If staying the night, they do a service where you can drop bags the night before (so you could also check in online early and head straight to security).

I have heard that T2 and T4 are the worst, but it's all just hearsay.
