Tui, I've tried to book a holiday, but you really don't make it easy...

Tui's website has always been a bit creaky, clunky and crap, but when you get to the payment page, after fannying about with all your details, only to be told they're having "technical issues" and the holiday hasn't been booked, it's beyond annoying. Their current issues/reputation will put people off booking, but making it nigh on impossible for would be customers to book easily will add to the speed of their demise. Never mind, I'll try Jet2.

It usually means someone else has pipped you to the post and booked it just before you

NoEffingWay · 07/08/2022 18:14

I stopped trying when every single holiday had mysteriously gone up in price by £300 making a reasonably priced holiday extortionate. Hmm

Justmuddlingalong · 07/08/2022 18:19

Nope. The holiday's still there. And on the First Choice website too. Mustn't be fussed for the business.

Have to say, we had no problems at all when booking two holidays online with TUI. Hopefully you’ll resolve the issue and get something booked 😀

Funkyslippers · 07/08/2022 18:22

Only book with Jet2 if you really like Jess Glynne.....!

Denny53 · 07/08/2022 18:23

Personally I wouldn’t book with TUI if they were the last holiday company left. I know all holiday companies have problems but it’s the way they handle the problem that counts TUI never put the customer first. In fact due to the amount of compensation they are currently paying out I’d be very very surprised if they are still in business next year

maddiemookins16mum · 07/08/2022 18:48

Jet2 are really giving TUI a run for their money, thank goodness.

purplediva · 07/08/2022 19:04

Are you trying to pay with a mastercard? Apparently there is problem paying online with them. I ended up phoning and booking with no probs with the same card

Yes I found this. Some of the ones I was looking at mysteriously went up over a thousand pounds!

We’ve been on two TUI holidays this year. No issues at all, other than being delayed a few hours each way on one of the holidays, but they paid out the appropriate compensation without a fuss. Have booked two more holidays with them for October and May. I would book with Jet2 in preference but they don’t go to the place we wanted to travel to.

treesandweeds · 07/08/2022 19:43

You need to use an incognito tab on your browser, the price won't go up then.

thenightsky · 07/08/2022 19:49

I've never had an issue with Tui and they were great when we had to cancel the same holiday 3 times due to lockdowns/covid shite. What does annoy me is when I find a holiday I want, put in my dates etc and it goes... 'Sorry, the holiday you are looking at is all sold out on those dates'. I know it isn't coz friends are going there and sending me pics on FB!. Yet every date I put in is rejected - for months on end.

BotterMon · 07/08/2022 21:57

Never had an issue? Just booked 3rd TUI holiday this year. Always get a great price and much cheaper than doing it myself.
