Broadway show tickets?

We are going to New York for few days in October. I have been there many times but haven't seen a broadway show in years. Where is the best place to buy online? When I Google it, many websites are offering them. I'll need 6 tickets and as they are pricy , don't want to make an expensive mistake!

I would always buy direct from the theatre / show itself. There is also the TKTS booth where you can buy them on the day at discounted prices, but 1) the queues are usually horrendous, 2) it’s not guaranteed you’d find six tickets for the same show.

Buy direct from the theatre.
If you want to take a chance and don’t mind getting up early you can queue at each theatre for on the day tickets. that said, when we did it, the theatre was opposite the hotel and I sent my daughter to queue!

Sorry - the box offices open at 10.00 and she queued for an hour

A little riskier but would also recommend entering the lotteries for each show - we won for 2 separate shows on a 5 day trip in December a few years ago. $20 tickets for amazing seats at The Lion King 😄

OP needs 6 tickets and lotteries are generally fit a max of 2

If they all 6 turn up and sign up for two tickets each, chances increase. That said, it’s risky. I’ve also had good experiences using the lottery system ($25-30 tickets for top tier seats) but it’s whether the OP is happy to take that risk. Or maybe do the lottery, win 4 tickets, and buy the other two at the box office on the spot.

Thanks for all the replies. I can remember queuing up for tickets in the past but that was 20 years ago and I had lot more patience! We are only in New York for 5 days so would like to have them booked before we get there and as I need 6 don't want to take a chance. I never thought of booking directly with theatre....thinking of Lion King. Unfortunately Dollar is very strong at moment against Euro, so will be expensive .

as far as i know the lion king is rarely discounted at the tkts booth so you may as well just buy direct from the theatre

Isn’t it on in London? Probably cheaper here.

I'm in Ireland TizerorFizz, and am going to U. S so more convenient to go in New York. I actually got sorted...booked them through Getyourguide.com. We decided to book Aladin and got tickets for 808e for 6 tickets in Orchestra section near front. There is free cancellation before October 20th with full refund if required . It was much more expensive to book direct through the theatre . Really looking forward to it now😃
