Devon holiday

I'm going out of my mind looking. I'm after a week away in Devon. With a toddler and 9 year old. Ideally I'd like it on the beach (a nice sandy one) and possibly some night time family entertainment. I seem to find something and then the reviews are terrible.

Have you looked at Devon Cliffs, Exmouth?

iloveyankeecandle · 05/08/2022 14:55

@SingingWaffleDoggy actually we went there a few years back. That was nice.

Ruda holiday park in Croyde is nice.

Exmouth

Had a week there last year. Stayed in an apartment in Kingsbridge, which is close to Salcombe but better value for accommodation. Beaches nearby were lovely. I’d be minded to book evening restaurants in advance as the good places fill up very quickly.

We went to Crofton holiday park earlier in the year with our baby and it was fab. Excellent facilities, 2 bars with entertainment and indoor and outdoor poor. Dawlish/dawlish Warren beach close by which is nice and sandy.

Cofton Holidays or Lady's Mile at Dawlish. Ruda in Croyde or Twitchen House in Woolacombe Bay. All near sandy beaches with pools and entertainment.

Beverley Park is nice too!

FamilyGredunza · 10/08/2022 16:03

I have to say this in capitals because it's so good WOOLACOMBE BAY holiday park. Not Woolacombe sands, Woolacombe bay (with the beachball logo). They are absolutely fantastic and so much free entertainment and activities so even if it rains you are covered.

FamilyGredunza · 10/08/2022 16:07

They do a pantomime once a week at the moment as part of the evening entertainment (all free) and I would have honestly paid good money to have gone to watch it. It was so good.

ShrillSiren22 · 10/08/2022 16:16

Beverley Park is great, the evening entertainment is particularly good (it’s my brother most nights). Down the hill to Goodrington which is Sandy plus has Splashdown attached. Loads of stuff to do round Torbay. Or there’s Hobourne at the bottoms of the hill from Beverley which has a great indoor and outdoor pool. Not sure the quality of evening entertainment but it’s got a big stage area and definitely has stuff every night.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm just writing them down so I can compare prices! 😀

Check out the English Riviera web site. It has lots of family friendly ideas. Model village at Babbacombe, Kents Cavern cave in Torquay (brilliant for the 9yr old), activity park on Paignton Green, Fair on Torre Abbey meadow for August, Cliff railway at Babbacombe, Round Robin ticket from Torquay, which includes open topped bus to Brixham, steam train journey , then back on ferry across the bay. Lovely on days like these
