I lived in Helsinki for a few years and used to go to Tallin quite a bit. Its a lovely place to visit and really easy to get to from Helsinki.

ooh, yes please, we are going in feb, and have booked the three sisters hotel as it looks lovely - do you know if it is a good place to stay?
also, any recommendations of wine bars, restaurants etc would be great!

Hello. To be honest I hadnt heard of that hotel before ,but I had a look at their website and it does look really good. It is in the oldtown so the location is good too.Places I would recommend to go: Tallinn City Museum(you can see Tallinn developing through the centuries), The Occupation Museum( great way to learn about the soviet times), Troika (A Russian Restaurant on the town hall square), Controvento(Italian Restaurant, which is situated on the prettiest little street in Tallinn), Olde Hansa (A Medieval Restaurant. Definately an experience) Mollys (an irish pub)
I hope you have a nice trip and enjoy youself!
