Destinations for 30th

Turning 30 in March 🎉

I’m hoping to go away with girlfriends, and wanted to go to Bali.. there’s a lovely sanctuary there but, currently as it stands if unvaccinated I have to quarantine for 5 days for arrival, which kinda ruins it…

I’m aiming to book next month, which is 6 months before, and I do have other places as back-up should that rule still be in place…

Any suggestions and recommendations on places to go?

All recommendations welcome be it abroad or otherwise 🤍

Tbh I'd like something quite luxurious and special which is why I really liked the Bliss Retreat place in Bali... I deffo want some being pampered involved,
So something similar really...

Otherwise I'm open to having fun, and being open-minded, to enjoy warm weather and dress up on the day too, an a round celebration!

Following as I'm thinking of Mexico for my 30th next year

We're in a RIU hotel with our DD so haven't checked out anything fancy.

There are loads of excursions to do that look fantastic so we'll be checking those out.
Tips would be. Don't bother styling your hair it's too hot and humid to bother.

We've only been here a few days so haven't seen much yet. I'll post again when we've moved off our loungers and explored.

We are in Bali at the moment, just in case you thought “sod, it, it’s worth it” just letting you know there is no longer an option to quarantine on arrival, you have to be vaccinated and be able to show your International Vaccination Cert. Airlines won’t let you board a flight to Bali without one. If you want to travel domestically in Indonesia (eg from Bali to Lombok) you need a booster as well.

Bali is gorgeous. Tbh if that's where you want to go, get vaccinated and go there.

Otherwise, we spent out 30th birthdays in Australia in late feb / early March.

We've also visited Penang in Malaysia in Feb / March and that was amazing.

Hello, yes there was LOTS of conflicting info about this yday, some online sites said no quarantine, but a lot of their Bali official sites said quarantine x 5 days... but that they are looking into allowing unvax folks to visit
It looks like they are really slow to update to clarify what you've just said

i planned to book my 30th regardless of where abroad i go- 6 months before but I wonder because Bali restrictions may change between Sep - NY

Hey hey, I think I've decided on Mexico too!

Mexico was amazing.

There are parks to visit. XCARET! Is the one we chose and it was fantastic.

The weather was gorgeous.

Hey hey! Yes decided on Tulum , I'm excited and that reminds me I need to look into Xcaret I've heard good things!!

When we went with DS about 10+ y ago ( he was just 4/5 y ) we did Tulum and Xcaret as day trips from Cancun but also visited amazing Chichen Itza, the Mayan Ruins which I recommend. We are now going back with DD (10) but this time to the other side , the Pacific to Puerto Vallarta for surfing etc . We’ll stay in a cliff side luxury hotel in the rain forest ! Looking forward to it . Atm we’re in Mauritius…

Ps Bali was cool too as long as you don’t mind hot and very humid ( at least the time of year we went April which was killer weather for me with my health problems ). We returned in 2019 before the pandemic with our kids after first visiting on a gap year trip 20 y ago when young . DH and kids even my little DD did a bunch of surfing ,the best place for it so far according DS , a few of cultural tours , a helicopter etc . 1 d after we left the volcano erupted ( we’d carefully avoided the area on our helicopter tour but went to see another one ) . Hope you’ll get to visit it one day !
And have a fun birthday trip where ever you’ll end up !

Tulum is very very touristy now, just in case you didn't want that.
