Really fancy a Villa/apartment in Italy for a break. Unfortunately I can’t drive. Any suggestions where we can go where don’t need a car? But isn’t a hotel.

Sorrento or one of the small towns nearby, like Sant Agnello, would be perfect for you. You can take boat trips along the coast to Positano, Amalfi, Capri or Naples and visit Pompeii and Herculaneum on the local train. There are loads of great places to eat and wonderful delis to buy stuff to take back to your villa.

We rented a villa from these people

Lots of places are doable in Italy without a car. We have SC in

Venice - took a taxi from the airport and then boat (obviously to our apartment). We also took a train up to lake Garda for the day whilst here.

Pisa - took a taxi from the airport, train to local beaches and train to Rome for an overnight stay, walked most places as stayed central

lake Como - flew into Milan, spent a night there. Took the train to Varenna and rented an apartment, visited other places on lake como using the ferry or boat hire.

All done using Ryanair flights and Airbnb / booking.com. Cheapest was probably Pisa, we did the tower etc but mainly took the train to the nearest beach 15 mins away
