Taking prescription co-codamol to Spain

Choconuts · 03/08/2022 12:52

Does anyone have any experience of travelling to Spain with prescription co-codamol 30/500?

I've tried looking at the online guidance but I'm getting confused and was hoping someone would know if it's ok? Thanks in advance

Should be fine. You can buy tramadol over the counter in spain.

Thanks @TheCanyon that puts my mind at rest!

@Choconuts just checking in - was this ok? I’m also getting confused online and unsure whether this will be ok without a GP letter

I take them and have done for years, it's never been a problem abroad but I always take a copy of my prescription just in case anyone queries it.

I’ve taken manage medicines abroad and always just ensure I have my prescription and original boxes if worried

Put it in your hold luggage.

How would "Spain" even know what medication your carrying?

DragonFly98 · 27/09/2023 16:23

It's fine just keep them in the box with the pharmacy label nobody asks anyway.

Put it in your hold luggage.

That's really not recommended if it's essential medication....

In any event if there's going to be a check it would be at customs in Spain (that's how "Spain" would know) which would happen after hold baggage has been collected by the OP.

Hopefully as PPs have said a copy of any prescriptions plus medication in original packaging should see the OP through without any problems.
