Anyone ever done a cultural package tour on their own ?

I'm considering travelling with a company that specialises in 'cultural/architectural' tours, probably alone as neither DP nor DSs are not the slightest bit interested in traipsing around churches etc on the baltic coast of germany 😂 Anyone done this kind of thing before and what was it like ?

No but my dad used to do battlefield tours. Apparently a lot of people were on their own because it wasn't their partners thing.

Yes. Not for a few years but I did Greece three times, Island hopping and cultural sites. Jordan, Syria, Egypt, India. Had a great time and went on to travel with other like minded single travellers. Go, have great time.

Yes when I was backpacking as a youngster but not recently - I would definitely consider a cultural tour holiday alone though. I've been all over the world by myself on non-package holidays; for some things it'd be nice to have company but generally I love it and relish the freedom. I wouldn't want to miss out on doing something I'd enjoy because no one else wanted to go. The first time was a bit daunting but, when I arrived, I realised it was just in my head and it got easier after that.

I expect you'd have a mixture of tour activity time, alone time to do as you wish, and some organised dinners - perhaps see if what they offer feels like the right balance for you. You could ask the company what sort of people go on those tours and if they have other people who go alone (I'd think they will). I imagine the type of people who go on those sorts of tours are friendly and interesting. I think there are some group tour companies who are set up specifically for people to go by themselves. If you go, please let us know!

Thanks everyone. Lots to think about. The company is actually Martin Randall (I think and this years trip is sold out which tells me there is demand for it)

I haven't but I've been on tours where there were people travelling alone and they seemed to be enjoying it! I'd definitely do it.
