Hello

We have just made last minute booking for mid Aug, 7 nights staying in Gold Plus caravan. We go there with our 4yo boy.

We have never been to holiday park/caravan type holiday, we are not from the UK originally, so don't really know what to expect, take with us etc.

Any tips, advise, recommendations, honest reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Sheppey is an odd place. Its viewed by many people as odd, rough, deprived, cut off.

Its beaches are not that great but it does have a beauty of its own as a whole area. Its actually quite historical, a big naval history. Its a wasted opportunity of a place to my mind, so much more could be done with it.

However it has some great walking areas, cycling, lovely little churches, lots of open space.

The Isle of Sheppey isn’t somewhere I’d want to go on holiday-sorry. As PP says, it’s a strange place with an unsettling vibe.

I live on Sheppey, don't believe the bad press. There are parts which are very beautiful.Leysdown is what it is, untouched by hipsters and gentrification , go further along to Shellness and less crowded if you want a more peaceful experience. Minster beach is clean and pleasant and Barton's Point is a good area for children to run off steam...
Loads of potential but very run down in places but if you are happy sitting on the beach and appreciating the view then you will enjoy it.
