Palma de Mallorca

My dmil has offered to have the children for a few days in October and I'd like to take my dh on a city break. I think I've decided on Palma.
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel or apartment? I don't have unlimited funds so it needs to be reasonable. Breakfast is a bonus but happy for self catered.
Any other must dos whilst in the city?

Palma is one of my favourite cities. The old town is great just to wander Around and there are loads of lovely restaurants. I recommend convent de La missio I’m the old town with an amazing restaurant called Fosh.

Hotel Born.
Smack bang in the cent but tucked away up an lane.

Its only a 2/3 * because it doesn't have a lift.
Ask for a court yard facing room.

Hotel Almudaina. Perfect location, lovely rooms, great breakfast and a rooftop bar

I came here to say this but couldn't remember the name of the hotel 🤣

It is really lovely and super-convenient. Palma is beautiful as well and you won't lose much time of your break on the actual travelling (if the airport shuttle bus is still going I definitely recommend that), always a bonus!

I've also stayed in the UR Palacio Avenida (it's near the train stop for Soller) and remember it being perfectly okay too, but of the two Born would be my choice for another trip of the two. Would be perfectly happy with this one if Born was full, though.

Great choice OP - Palma is lovely. Another vote here for Hotel Almudaina; we stayed there for a few days last month and loved it. Very nice rooms, great service and a very central location, and the rooftop bar has great views across the city.

We’ve also stayed at the Hotel Convent de La Missio in the past and loved that too, but can’t afford it now post-kids as it’s considerably pricier than Hotel Almudaina.

Thank you very much. A few hotels that look great.

Last summer we stayed at the Protur Naisa, it was LUSH! Rooftop pool with fab cocktails, close to everything, nice breakfasts.

I've also stayed in one of the HM hotels which was lovely but a bit further out.

A friend of mine found a beautiful apartment on priorityvillas.com

Try the Bellver by Melia, but upgrade the room to a premium sea view. Right opposite the marina with an awesome view. A nice walk into town and cabs back. Loads of bike hire shops next to hotel and a traffic free cycle lane right up to Playa de Palma. Take one day out of your trip to do that, it’s such a gorgeous ride even for an unfit 60 year old.
