what time does security open at stansted

We have a 6am ryan air flight from Stansted. If we are meant to be there 3 hours before will security be open at 3am? Has anyone arrived there at 1am as doesnt seem worth getting a hotel for 2 hours. Anywhere to wait or anything open? Thanks

I'm fairly sure I've been there at 3am and found the place packed.

It's a very dull airport with the standard duty free lot of shops. There were a couple of places open for breakfast that were packed and then the usual chairs.

Would be worth seeing if there is a lounge.

We were there for a 6am flight a few weeks ago, security opened at 3am, as did check-in desks and bag drop. Not all of the shops opened at that time, but some did. There are loads of flights at that time of day so it's very busy, but pretty well organised.

Thanks. Lounge doesnt open until 4am so wouldnt be worth it as our flight is at 6am. Presumably 1am to 3am there would be nothing if you cant go through security.

sjxoxo - are you sure security will be open as there are loads of posts saying people queue ready for them opening at 3 or 4 or do they mean just for baggage check in?
