Anyone flown from Heathrow this week?

We are flying Thursday morning from Terminal 4 with air Malta. Just wondered what it’s like queue wise since school holidays started! We’re planning to arrive three hours before. Fast track doesn’t seem to be available to book.

Am also interested to know what the Heathrow experience is like at the moment...

I flew in and out last week no issues. I think it's luck depending on time/ airline/route etc.....

We flew from T2 on Sunday. Took us about 15 minutes to get through bag drop and about 20 to get through security.

My ILs flew from T3 on Tues and the queue for security over an hour - it was looped all around the upstairs area of the terminal - I couldn't believe it. I drove home and took a wrong turning and still made it back before they got through!

However, I'm not sure how much help that is to you flying from another terminal on a different day.

Encouraging to hear some positives! I know none of this has an actual bearing on how we will get on but any reassurance feels good so thank you. I’m trying to avoid all news stories about queues and, even worse, lost luggage (always a major paranoia of mine, even pre covid). DH much more laid back about it all so just rolls his eyes every time I’ve said how anxious I feel.

Went from terminal 4 a couple of weeks back. It's only just reopened and was pretty deserted. A really good experience

Relieved to see T4 seems quiet as we fly from there soon and I was checking the website to look at lounge v restaurant options. Looks like there are only 2 restaurants in operation?! (Not counting Pret, Nero etc) and hardly any shops. Were the restaurants heaving as there was such a limited choice and nothing else to do? I bloody love a good duty free browse!

For anyone following - it was fine! There was some queuing but nothing horrendous. We were through bag drop and security in just over an hour. The queue fur security was long but moved fast. We went for breakfast and after that could see there was no queue at all! We checked in at 7 as our flight was 10:50am but I think people were getting there early generally so there was a long queue at 8 but nothing by 9:30am. Happy holidays all.
