We are long married , middle aged , probably frankly dull people ๐Ÿ˜‚

we are having a campervan built but as these things do - itโ€™s taking waaaay too long.

i have 10 days at the end of august for holiday. Iโ€™m really unsure what to go for. No idea re budget as weโ€™ve always done holidays for 5 on a shoestring ๐Ÿ˜‚but we do have some money we are willing to spend.

My dream holiday all incl with swim or Maldives type water bungalow I think BUT no drunken all night raving - which makes me worried about โ€œ adult only โ€œ hotels as you canโ€™t tell if they are really 18-30 bonkers breaks ๐Ÿ˜‚. Oh and good food not mediocre buffet โ€ฆ.

husband might get bored with above so somewhere to go and see with culture / history ?

orโ€ฆ. I guess we take the dog ( so uk unless you can ferry to Chanel islands ) as usual and I have a nice time but internally moan about cost of air b&b ( for what it is ) and husband goes on about โ€œ driving all the time โ€œ๐Ÿ˜‚

open to many different thoughts. Iโ€™m just nit that imaginative and husband couldnโ€™t really care less but likes it when we are there ! ( the โ€œ mum mental load โ€œ never goes when the kids have grown )

It's hard avoiding kids but I'd search boutique hotels, ie Mr and Mrs Smith, and on Travelzoo, to see which ones are v adult but not v stag/hen! I'd consider Marrakech (Palmeraie) as reasonably priced, also Croatia (islands near Dubrovnik). Madeira is a possibility and less of a young person destination.

A little Greek island hop adventure would be heaven and stop any boredom accumulating

Chania in Crete?
This hotel is adults only and looks lovely.

Airport is about half an hour away.

I often go to Tui adults only hotels and they're definitely not club 18-30. They are quiet and the evening entertainment is more chilled acoustic type music than the cheesy tunes at family hotels.

What's your budget? I'm currently looking at a water bungalow in the Maldives for December and it's ยฃยฃยฃ. You can save quite a bit just by opting for the beach bungalows that have their own terrace but they're still not cheap.

What about an adult only cruise, a bit of being looked after and waking up each day somewhere different for a bit of culture.
