October Half Term Holiday Suggestions

We're looking at going away in October - me, dh, dd16 and ds10.

We'd like somewhere that's still warm enough for beach and/or pool as it's our holiday abroad this year - dh is a roofer and absolutely stacked out, and dd is currently abroad for 4 weeks on an organised expedition.

Bonus points if it's not too far to travel for a week - possibly 10 days.

Madeira, Canary Island and possibly Cape Verde will be warm that time of year.
From those suggestions I’ve only been to Madeira in early November and it was warm.

I was going to have a look at Cape Verde as dh has fancied going there for years!

I’d recommend Tenerife or Lanzarote if you’re wanting more stuff to keep the kids entertained - water parks, zoos etc. Cabo Verde is definitely warm but there’s very little to do outside the resorts. Madeira is absolutely gorgeous with lots of culture and history if your kids are into that.

Turkey is warm in October. Cape Verde is good if you want just a beach holiday, there is very little else to do.

We went to Eden Andalou Suites in Marrakesh back in 2019 and it was perfect at that time of year.
