Couple city break - December

Looking for recommendations for a city break, likely just a weekend, in December. Maybe somewhere Christmassy? Short flight ideally, would be flying from any London airport.

Thank you!

Christmassy would be Prague or one of the Christmas markets in Germany or Austria (pricey though) I've been to Barcelona in December, it wasn't very Christmassy but I'd still recommend it for a weekend break Smile

We loved Bucharest and Brasov at Christmas. Did both on one trip and Brasov was really pretty. Copenhagen was lovely but pricey. Bergamo was also really picturesque in December but you probably only need a couple of days so could double up with Milan.

Seville would be nice, a beautiful city and they have some of the mildest weather in Europe so more pleasant for sight seeing.

I was going to say Marrakech - lovely blue skies and really warm in the middle of the day (cold morning and eve though) - but it’s definitely not Christmassy!

Salzburg or Vienna. Lovely and Christmassy and both beautiful places to stroll around (whilst drinking Glühwein) .

Cologne has a nice Christmas market and an amazing Chocolate museum. Vienna also good although it was freezing in December when I lived there.

We go away every year in December for our wedding anniversary. Two stand out trips were Florence (flights from London City to Florence itself instead of Pisa). Was lovely. Had lots of life but wasn’t rammed with tourists.

Other one was Vienna. Cold, Christmassy but easy. I will not forget seeing Kilmt’s “The Kiss” and I am so not into art.
