PGL?

I went on a few PGL hols as a kid in the early 90s. I remember being homesick but also really enjoying the activities - for the most part!
I’ve recently started getting loads of ads for PGL holidays (thanks Instagram algorithm!!) My sons are 7yo and almost 10yo and far more gregarious, sociable and resilient than I ever was. I think they’d love a PGL hol, especially if they went together.
Has anyone sent their kids on a PGL recently? What did you/your kids think?

The youngest age for a PGL residential camp is 8. The only one I know which takes 7 year olds is Camp Cooper in Scotland.

The one at Osmington was recently in the paper for safeguarding issues. I'd do some research about which camp.

Not quite the same, but when my DCs were about the same age we did a couple of family PGL trips (ie we also went with them) and we all thought they were brilliant.

The accommodation was very basic, but ok, and your whole day was filled with different things to do.

they have tried to rebrand as a family holiday - as in you go with them you don't send them off on camp if they are under 8.

Can't think of anything worse unless they've bulldozered the accommodation!

I went to Bawdsey Manor in the May half term with two 11 year olds and a 14 year old. We all had a great time. The instructors were lovely, day and night activities were fun, the food was plentiful and the beds were comfy. Right next to the beach which was perfect for a pre and post site visit. :)
