Hi we are a family of 4, ds age 9, dd age 6. We haven't been on holiday since dd was a baby. We have about £3500 to spend. Not as far as America. Where should we go? I've been on the websites and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options. Any suggestions? Thanks

A Greek island - you can’t beat it.

I'd look into cruises, we did our first when our DS was 2 and it's (sadly) been life changing.

Benefit of AI, so many activities for the kids, different cities to explore, plenty for adults to do and price wise often cheaper than an AI hotel in the countries you'd be visiting for the same length of time.

They're not for everyone but i wax on about them to everyone with kids now Grin

Ai is a great option but if the budget isn't sufficient try self catering in France

Greek island hopping.

Campervan across Europe, although I wouldn't have an idea of cost.

There’s a massive shortage of rental cars and camper vans for hire. Just not a doable holiday now.,Book a ferry to France and get a gite? Or a campsite? Go to anywhere on Eurostar and go for day trips?

what sort of holiday do you want?

Lordofmyflies · 13/07/2022 19:05

I'm assuming you are going in August with the children's ages? In that case I'd go to Menorca. Short flight, not as hot as Greece and you should get more for your money.

TizerorFizz · 13/07/2022 19:32

Flights for August will be a horrific price.

We are going to Lake Garda this year. Flying into Milan, getting a car and driving to Bella Italia - a family friendly campsite. We will travel around Lake Garda for two weeks and will do a mix of theme parks, sightseeing and activities on the campsite.
Have you looked at AI hotels in Mallorca? Fly into Palma and get a transfer to one of the resorts. It is a nice area for kids.

banannabreadforme · 13/07/2022 21:31

Thanks for your replys :) we want a standered weeks holiday somewhere hot with a pool, kids club and evening entertainment. We've not done that since the kids were babies

Right, so a package holiday. You’d be best to search the main operators by your dates, budget and departure airport and maybe post a short list of options or it’s a bit of an open ended search.
