Someone please help us we are going around in circles. We want to be careful with money and not dip into savings so realistically £2.5k for a one week holiday this august. Dates are set with work. Our biggest focus is to have the kids swimming every day so their swimming comes on. Package holidays are £££, doing flights and Airbnb ourselves is £££. At this rate it will be a staycation with an Argos paddling pool in the rain (will be just our luck to be peeing it down in the Uk on our week off. Any thoughts? Doesn’t have to be fancy, just be nice enough to enjoy for a week x

Remember that on the beach and love holidays are not ATOL/ABTA protected. Since covid started they have proven themselves to be a nightmare. I would certainly be looking at the reviews because my experience of love holidays during covid was terrible (they refused to cancel our holiday, or change our flights, even though the flight provider had cancelled those flights)

2 bedroom apartment with lovely looking pool in Spain available on Jet 2 holidays for just over your budget. Lots of options if you can stretch to £3k

Family 5. 2 adults+ 3 children <10
We went camp site Italy. Mobile €1300 for a week and flights €800 return
Swimming pools onsite they were in them every day. Pizzas reasonable but can also cook in mobile.
I expect Spain or France travel could be good value loads campsite with swimming pools. Booking direct may be better value.
Find flights first a friend going to Majorca said accommodation very easy come by with booking. Com ect has free cancellation so always something becoming available
Good luck hope you get holidays

Don’t even think of flying in August. Flights are capped at some airports and it’s a risky strategy. You are very late planning this too! The costs will inevitably be huge!

I would look at ferry to France or Holland snd try for a caravan park. Or one one in this country. Plan earlier for next year and hope flights are nearer to normal.

I would definitely look at fuerteventura or lanzarote, better choice of 2 bed apartments and since their high season is winter can be cheaper. Also reasonable to eat out, far cheaper than Majorca,Ibiza and mainland Spain

What about the lLmousin? Good weather and much cheaper than the tourist hotspots in Dordogne.

*Limousin, sorry

Tui have Salou from Manchester at £2006 on the 13th

Are any flights actually going to leave? Why risk it? I’d rather do a ferry to Ireland!

Booked · 13/07/2022 12:59

Of course most flights will leave! Why wouldn't they?
