Passport updates

Does anyone know if they email you for each step for the passport ? I've had emails so far for documents received etc but just wondering if you get them for application approved and then printing etc , saves me logging in all the time to see if there's been any more updates .

I've had an email today saying application approved & ready for printing, been 5 days since i got the one saying documents received

Yes, they have set both text messages and emails. However, I couldn't track the passport on the day off delivery. They sent me a text message stating it would be arriving today. Here is tracking number and link. I could login but that was it.

I went to pick my dc from school and found the passport posted.

Yes I think they must do. DH has had quite a few.

DH got his new passport today after about 3 weeks. We were expecting it to take all summer so they have either cleared the backlog or are ignoring it!

The hardest part was getting a photo of him that they would accept (in the end we went to a shop).

Thank you I'll stop checking every day and wait for an email! Applied for ds first passport so hoping it comes soon so we can get a holiday booked for the summer holidays updated to documents received last Monday but heard nothing more yet. Hoping the photo is ok although I think they arnt as fussy with under 1s.

Don't know why but it wouldn't let me post a screenshot. Here is the timeline for my son application and they sent an email and text with each step. The passport was received on 8th July.

My passport picture was rejected because of glare, I took and sent another picture which was accepted and sent to print the following day.

@Bluebellsand wow that's quick! Hopefully I'm not waiting much longer it's a first passport so they must be doing the relevant checks etc hopefully it's here by the end of the month good to know they are putting the applications through faster now I think they've just put earlier applications on the back burner people who applied months ago seem to be having the most trouble .
