Driving around France - emission zones

We're taking a road trip next month with five stops all over France (mid, east and south). I've applied for a Crit'air sticker but I'm struggling to work out where the restrictions apply. I've just read that one of the motorways around Paris (not the peripherique) is also included which I didn't realise.

Has anyone driven recently who can advise how to find out where the zones are?

Is a pretty good guide. For Paris, it's the 'outer ring', which is mostly the A86. So, for example, if you find Rueil Malmaison on the map (western suburb of Paris), that ring road is where the zone starts.

I've read that you can print out a copy of your Crit order form to show on the rare occasion you get stopped. Ours took a few weeks to come through.
