Jet2 Baggage

Flying with Jet2 tomorrow for first time.

We have the 22kg per person for hold luggage.

I have 2 DC sharing a case. Read on their website maximum weight of one suitcase is 32kg which is fair enough, it’s under that but over 22 obviously.

Thats ok right? Always been ok on other flights but just wanted to check anyone’s recent experience with Jet2. Can separate into 2 cases if need be.

Have you paid for 4 hold bags? If so I would imagine you would be ok but I’m no expert.

Pretty sure it needs to be 2 cases then. I flew with them last month and theyre very responsive to Facebook messages

Yes that’s fine. You have 88kg of reserved weight in the hold so you can split that however you want - in line with whatever their maximum weight per item is.

Yes paid for 4 hold bags at 22kg each.

Husband and I have separate cases, under 22kg.

Would just rather DC shared one but it is therefore over 22kg.

As long as it's under 32 kg, it's fine. You're allowed to pool your allowance.

We've just returned from a Jet2 package where we had 2 x 22 kg cases on the booking and we took one case that weighed 23 kg on the way out and 24 on the way back due to all the sand in the towels and beach bags and it was totally fine.

But if the case is for 2 DC, surely it won't weigh that much anyway?

Livinginanotherworld · 08/07/2022 14:26

The 32kg limit is just a health and safety manual handling limit. You should be fine to combine allowances.

22kg may accommodate more than you think. Bear in mind you need to lift it too. Just spread it across 3 bags.
