Chances of getting a passport...?

Hi all - hoping to mine the collective knowledge of mumsnet! I'm trying to get a fasttrack passport for my 7 week old baby for a trip at the end of June - no slots have come up on their system/website when I've checked over the last two days and when I rang up I didn't get anything other than 'the system is live, we can't make appt for you over the phone'.

What are the chances, does anyone know? It's a trip with my husband's family, booked very recently, and I really love to go with them but worried that it may not be meant to be....

I managed to book a fast-track slot at my local passport office for first-thing the following morning and the passport arrived within two days! This was last week.

keep checking as they release more slots (none over the weekend) also follow them on Twitter as they update when the appts go live. Keep clicking back and forwards once you’re on as new slots pop up.

That said, I think I only got mine because the passport office is only about an hour away for me and I have a neighbour who could quickly countersign the photos. Most people wouldn’t have been able to get there at that time.
