September first beach family holiday help

Ibloodyhateholidayresearch · 04/07/2022 17:52

First family holiday with 3.5 yo, a week around the first two weeks September, somewhere still warm.

Desperately searching for a decent hotel with half board, with sandy beach for the little one, around 3k.

Have scoured threads here and everything I've checked out (martinhal, ikos etc) is a small fortune.

Anyone have any recommendations?! 🙏

Everything super expensive this year. Very difficult to find a 'deal'. Lots of places should be hot still though so that's good, perhaps widen your search areas.

This is not a beach holiday but it is a brilliant holiday with a 3.5 year old. We did it many moons ago when ours were 3 & 5 and it was awesome. its very small (only a few apartments) they have a nanny on site with kids activities and their is animal feeding each day on the farm etc plus a pool. There are all sorts of activities to do as well around the area. So it is a 'break' for parents as well as a great family holiday. here

Salou in Spain has big sandy beach. H10 hotels are nice.

Inturotel Cala Esmeralda in Cala D'or, right on its own beach, really nice area. About 15 minute walk into the main town that has loads of restaurants.

Yes would second the Hotel esmerelda in Cala d'or as PP suggested.
Also recommend the Intur Hotel Miami in Es Cana, Ibiza. Great pirate themed kids pool, right on the beach and all inclusive.
Es cana is a lovely resort for families.
Puerto Pollensa, Majorca is also worth a look. We had some great holidays there when DC were little. It's a good base - if you hire a car you can drive to Alcudia, Pollensa town etc.

Thanks so much all, having a look at all of these options now. Inturotel Cala Esmeralda is now an adult only hotel apparently!

Everywhere in Europe will be warm in Sept:. hot even! We liked Southern Brittany then. Took our own car and DDs slept. Majorca will be better than in August. However: Short haul flights might be cancelled snd prices are high. It’s quite late to book. I would look at a ferry crossing. France will be lovely if you can get in.

Tui Blue Aura in Ibiza - amazing reviews (I haven’t been personally but thinking of booking and have been watching the Facebook page and trip advisor pages). And / or Tui magic life in Belek. Both look really good for children.

Majorca and south Spain would be my recommendations.

Places like canaries remain warmer until about October.

Menorca is family friendly, we have been a couple of times in the past, we stayed on the west coast of the island. Jet2 were doing free child places, don't know if any still available.

AllTheYoungGoodyTwoShoes · 05/07/2022 07:49

In fact we've been 3 times to Menorca when the kids were younger! It was a bit more expensive, last time was 3 years ago.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 05/07/2022 07:50

Cheaper deals are found when you book in advance.

Campervangirl · 05/07/2022 07:55

Short haul would be my suggestion, Spain not Greece as Greece is a 4 hr flight, far too long for a 3.5 Yr olds first flight.
Malaga is nice but I've been to adult only hotels.
Malaga has lovely beaches and the airport is great (been through a lot of airports so I'm a bit of an expert 😉) , I'd go on jet2 website and put in family holidays then see what there is and read the reviews.
I love jet2, no issues with cancelled flights or baggage handler issues

Menorca is lovely....we are going end of August....... you won't get the deals this late on tho....we are paying £600 each for 9 night all inc but if you were booking it today it would cost 900 each.

I think the complex is 3 different hotels, maybe the Esmeralda is the adults only one. Try Azul Park, I think it's called, we stayed at that one but it's all so close and you can you use the facilities of all the complex.
