Hey

Always loved the idea of going to Vegas. Has anyone kids? Are we gonna be really limited what we can do?

@Glitterspy
California really would not need a stop in LV. We headed out to national parks so just flew to LV and had a look around. I agree with @Glitterspy : it’s seedy and grubby. Full of dead eye gamblers. At least take DC to the great parks and sights in the USA if you are travelling that far. If you want a water park and glitz, Dubai is better.

@Glitterspy I assure you that sadly there will be many very visible drug and alcohol addicts on the streets of any city and most town you will be visiting in the US so have those explanations at the ready. Avoiding Vegas will not avoid them. With no proper social security there is no safety net for such people and they mostly live on the streets. Very sad, very visible.

In Vegas kids aren't allowed on the casino floors but surely gambling is explained as games that are only for grown ups?

TBH I think you're being naive if you think you can sanitize your trip to the States by avoiding Vegas.

@TizerorFizz I'm not sure Dubai is any more morally pure for @Glitterspy though it may be easier to avoid conversations about forced labour, women as second class citizens and human rights breaches as they are not so immediately visible on the streets as Vegas (and the US)'s moral issues.

Children are allowed to walk through the casino but cannot linger around the gaming areas. They should walk only on the clearly defined carpeted paths.

It might not be morally first class in Dubai but that’s the government. Not everyday squalor as in LV. I’m not a as fan of Dubai either. A week is ok there, once. Other Gulf states are available! If you look at the government practices in many countries we would avoid them.
