Will the weeaher be awful? I've just seen a great deal online and am thinking in a hurry! Is there a less developed side to majorca .. cannot remember the name of the coast or area
We'd love to go to a rural or semi-rural area near coast. Anyone got good recommmendations for accomodation? Self catering fine for us

We went to Majorca in early April last year and it rained solid for two weeks. To be fair I think it was exceptionally bad, but we won't be going back!

We were in Majorca for New year, it was sunny and about 16/18 degrees every day. :O

We stayed near Puerta Andraxt on the West coast, only 20 minutes from Palma. It's not particularly a touristy area but was really lovely with great beach areas so it may suit you. Google that plus Portals Nous and you should get a better idea plus accomodation info.

We go twice a year as we have small apartment there.

Emily you went the same time as me last year

I heard it was scorching in March though and the weather only broke right at the end of the month and was apparently great after we left.

Agree with Dee Port Andraxt is lovely - not touristy, lovely beach and a few bars (not british type) and excellent restaurant. Also try Valdemossa.

WE went start April a fair time ago...sea too cold to swim in for fab weather if you like cold crisp mornings and warmish afternoon. We stayed in Fornalutx which was so fab...village high up in the mountains, lovely accommodation. Very pretty and quiet...brilliant coastal cliff paths for walking...not sure but might have been 50 mins drive or so from coast..puerto pollensa. We plan to go back at some stage. I think the message is that the weather can be ok but it's unpredictable..but hey, no more so than UK
