Why the sudden price increase?!

Yesterday I was looking to book a caravan in Cornwall but then realised that for not much more we can book a cheap holiday abroad. One of our passports was out of date so I booked a fast track appt for this morning very lucky I know!). I wanted to wait to book until after the appt…Holiday has now gone up by over £100 per person making it over £400 more 😯 same flight times too.

I don’t get it, what on Earth has changed overnight 🤷🏻‍♀️

I need a one way flight to Greece next week and just paid £300. Gone are the days of £70 flights!
Stupidly when I checked yesterday it was only £200 so pretty much the same increase. I am very annoyed with myself for not booking it then.

Not necessarily. I got a £60 flight to Naples. You can get flights to Milan for £19.

Just have to have flexibility and check on Google flights

Possibly gone up because of price of fuel?

Fuel , demand if other flights were cancelled and passengers reassigned.

When were you originally looking and when is the holiday date? Things quickly get more expensive in the month or two before the date because last minute bookers start snapping them up.

They then sometimes become cheaper a week/10days before (package hols).

Well, I booked a flight Ryanair- Italy for next week and I paid £172 for two people about 6 weeks ago. It's now dropped to £12.99 each. So I'd agree with things that go up don't necessarily stay up. Trouble is, you can't always risk waiting!

Yes, of course they do. All booking websites do it - once you've indicated your interest the price might go up. You need to use the incognito browser when you're searching.

Prices do go up and down on a daily basis, I would keep checking, but clear your browsing history. It's crazy how a day or two difference in departure date, or different flight times and or airport can make a huge difference.
