Ideas for travel games

We have three dc aged 8-18 and off on holiday in a couple of weeks. We always sit in the evening and play some games but are getting a little tired of the usuals.

Does anyone have any suggestions for games we can pack and keep us all occupied?

The ones we like are card games like Go Fish, crazy eights plus uno, monopoly deal etc.

Youngest finds it hard to get her heard around anything tricky to work out so anything complicated probably wouldn't work! We're also limited in luggage space so it needs to be handbag sized...

Is there a version of Flux that appeals? We have the pirate version, but there are lots of others.

Alternatively, standard decks of cards, and a book of games.
Mine have been introduced to Cheet, wic was a great sucess. Racing demon was OK, but the 10 yr old needed a clue occasionally. Those have been the recent hots, but there are loads more that would work.

Mine like Exploding Kittens

There’s a good website Bicycle Cards which has the rules for loads of card games with a normal deck, I think you can filter by age group

Mine play Donkey and Happy Families every summer! Along with Uno.

Exploding kittens, pass the pigs?

Peaseblossum22 · 28/06/2022 11:16

We play a lot of bananagrams and cards .,Bananagrams is good because everyone plays at their own level . Lexicon is also good .

I forgot we had exploding kittens, I will dig that out! We have pass the pigs but inevitably someone gets over excited and the pigs end up being thrown very far away Confused
Banana grams is also a good shout, I'll look online for that.
We like card games but I am terrible at remembering rules- I will look at some suggested here, thank you.

We like Sussed. There are lots of different versions of it. It’s fun and results in lots of discussions and (friendly) arguments.

Pass the Pigs is great
There's a Family version of Cards Against Humanity.

Hanabi is a great cooperative card game, quite a small box (though I think the delux edition might be bigger).

I second the recommendation for Fluxx, I think Fantasy Fluxx is my favourite.
