Any one got any rough time scales on first baby passports I've just applied just waiting on counter sign and then ready to send birth certificate in was hoping to use fast track but didnt realise it was completely offline. Wanting to get away in august but don't want to book until passport is here

We’ve just submitted ours. Need to send the birth certificate tomorrow. Have a holiday booked for start of September so really hoping it’s a quick turn around. Haven’t seen too many complaints with first child passports to be fair, seems to be more renewals and adult passports being the issue at the moment.

Fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏻

@queenie2016 We’re in Durham. Didn’t know you could choose where it’s sent! We did ours online.
Yeah, I’ve heard Peterborough are getting through them pretty well. I’ll not be able to stop myself looking at the progress every 10 minutes! So hoping we’ve given enough time!!

Hi, sent my daughters docs and my deed poll of name change as it was a bit of a faffy application
I sent the documents off over the jubilee bank holidays, and they had emailed to say they had received them by the 8th June.

I had an email today to say my application is accepted, and my daughters passport will be printed. Not sure how long that will take - but my friends little boys passport arrived 3 days later, printed 2 days later.

does anybody have any idea on adult renewal / name change passports? Worst case I will fly on my old passport but no doubt it will cause an issue at immigration as it won’t match daughters name… can’t seem to get fast track appointments at all. Is that service offline!? Might just blooming drive to Newport and queue

Interested in renewals too. Need to get a new child's one for mid August.

sunnyside238 · 01/07/2022 07:59

Ours took less than 2 months but this was February

wizbit93 · 01/07/2022 08:00

I got my child's renewal one through this week-only took 17 days.

mrsmmajeika · 01/07/2022 09:36

DH and I sent off our renewals a week last Thursday and we've had a message saying they are due to be delivered to us today! So only 8 days in total. DH's went to Peterborough and mine went to Corby, yet weirdly we've had the same text updates at the same time and due to be delivered on the same day?!

Really pleased considering all the horror stories I have read. Now to do DD first passport application...

bonnieliesovertheocean · 01/07/2022 09:41

16 year old's renewal took 3 weeks from application to delivery (arrived 2 weeks ago). Application was sent to liverpool.

My son's took about 8 weeks, I think. My daughter's took 12 weeks! We got it quite recently. I applied for her passport on March the 4th but they lost her online information and I had to do a paper application in May. It was weird. They had me use the same reference number and the same ID witness but via a paper application which, in the end, was sent off to Belfast, whereas the online application had been done via Bootle. It was an utter, utter mess for reasons I will never understand. But... it arrived. Eventually.

TheVanguardSix · 01/07/2022 09:53

Mine were renewals, just to add... no name changes or any curve balls. I think, for some reason, the Feb/March renewals were a shambles but it seems to be better now. DS2's was applied for online last September 2021. Got it in two weeks, no problem.
