Where to go in October

We normally camp / caravan but I want to be warm… where would you go October half term? It’s just me and DD 11. She wants to swim / beach and I’m good with that. Budget is flexible but I probably don’t want long haul. Would you self cater or get a catered place? I’m not a huge drinker but like a wine or cocktail of an evening on holiday but won’t be up dancing at 2am!! Can’t spa with an under 16.

Cyprus if you want sun. We had a day rain and it got cool in the evening but during the day you have pool weather.

But do. check, lots of pools are unheated and DD didn't use it as much as she normally does.

You could do B&B instead of AI if you want flexibility. Cyprus is an amazing island and we ate out a lot.

Our hotel had a teen spa package, mani/pedi, teen facial and massage. DD was 12 and loved it.

Canaries. Find a nice resort with options. Quite a lot of the hotels offer bungalow style accommodation so you can have own space but with facilities of a hotel.

My husband works in professional sport and is only allowed October off. Trust me we've tried everywhere!

Everyone says canaries for this time of year but we've been both Tenerife and lanzarote and had rain and cloud. Maybe we're unlucky but it's enough to put me off!

Cyprus every time for us, never let us down!

Another vote for Cyprus here. Perfect weather in October, really friendly island and welcoming to Brits, accommodation to suit all budgets.

Turkey, we were swimming in the sea quite comfortably in October half term.

Egypt - Sharm el Sheik for amazing snorkelling
